Photo - De Grey’s black and white façade

De Grey’s black and white façade is one of Ludlow’s most photographed features, on a street famously described as “one of the most memorable in England”. Since it was built some 450 years ago, in the reign of Elizabeth I, number 5 Broad Street has had numerous uses: A young Princess – later Queen Victoria is reputed to have bought a pair of shoes in its shop.

For nearly a Century it has been De Greys Tearoom … and a Ludlow institution winning a raft of awards, including the Tea Guild’s Award of Excellence in 2004, 2005 and 2006.

Now, those same high standards and respect for heritage have been used to create a fascinating labyrinth of nine luxury guest rooms, each with their own distinct character and oodles of historic charm.
